NY HAMBURG — Hamburg Planning Board approves warehouse complex and event center amid opposition. The Board approved Brandon Santa's contested six-building warehouse project at 0 Lakeshore Road by a vote of 6 to 1, with Member Zajac opposing, imposing conditions requiring all tenant vehicles to use the Woodlawn Route 5 exit and a written agreement with Woodlawn Sewer District. In separate action, the Board unanimously approved a 32,850-square-foot event center for the Erie County Agricultural Society at 5600 McKinley Parkway, contingent on relocating two Japanese Maple trees valued at $5,000 each and dark-sky-compliant lighting.
The Board also tabled a 10-megawatt battery storage system proposed for 6433 Railroad Avenue, requiring Hamburg II East ESS, LLC and Hamburg II West ESS, LLC to submit a full environmental assessment.
