NY HAMBURG — Zoning board approves four residential variances with pool condition. The Board of Zoning Appeals voted unanimously to approve area variances for Rick Saunders' single-family dwelling on Scranton Road, Eileen Mahoney's deck on Sterling Road, and Laurie Toporek's covered porch on McKinley Parkway. Eduardo Gonzalez's swimming pool application passed 6-1 after the board negotiated a 5-foot setback instead of his requested 3 feet, with Commissioner Dennis Chapman casting the sole dissenting vote.
The modified pool variance addressed board concerns about property-line proximity and adequate yard space.
