Hamburg Town Board enacts 12-month solar and battery storage moratorium

NY HAMBURG — Hamburg Town Board enacts solar and battery storage moratorium while updating regulations. The board unanimously approved a 12-month pause on new applications for battery energy storage systems and Tier 2 and Tier 3 solar installations as the Code Review Committee modernizes local ordinances adopted in 2020 and 2021. Supervisor Elizabeth Farrell Lorentz was authorized to contract with Tyler Technologies for a townwide Enterprise Resource Planning system not to exceed $743,000 total; $206,000 recurring annually and $537,000 in one-time implementation costs.
The board also approved a $190,000 roof repair contract for the Highway Garage funded through American Rescue Plan Act dollars and appointed Milton Quandt as a Planning Board alternate member for a two-year term.
