Hamburg board authorizes emergency streetlight contract termination

NY HAMBURG — The Hamburg Town Board unanimously authorized its Town Engineer to terminate the 2026-2027 streetlight maintenance contract March 26 if the contractor fails to present a remediation plan by end of business March 25, after the contractor advised the town it will breach the contract with 13 outstanding work orders due to failure to order materials in advance. The board also authorized emergency streetlight maintenance pending contract re-bid. The board unanimously approved rezoning parcels on Camp Road and St.

Francis Drive from office use and office district to neighborhood commercial and multifamily residence under the amended Local Waterfront Revitalization Program to reflect existing conditions. The board authorized Buildings and Grounds to purchase a Toro Greensmaster for $50,482.01 on lease-to-own basis with five annual payments of $11,263.54 and tabled purchase of an Olympia Ice Resurface Machine at $130,778 after trade-in pending staff review of alternatives. The board also approved sealed bids for Town Hall brick repair and extended boat launch dredging services through March 24, 2027.
