Planning Board approves Benderson retail complex, Brokx conversion

Planning Board · Meeting of January 7, 2026

NY HAMBURG — Hamburg Planning Board approves conditional site plans for retail and training projects. The board voted 6-0 with one abstention to approve Benderson Development's 8,020-square-foot multi-tenant retail building with drive-thru at 5400 Southwestern Boulevard, with conditions limiting drive-thru tenant types and requiring stacking capacity of no more than eight vehicles before building permit issuance. Chair Cynthia Gronachan's board also conditionally approved John Brokx's industrial-to-training-facility conversion at 6302 Monckton Drive, pending professional engineer authorization of plan amendments.

Three subdivision applications were tabled to January 21 for traffic study, legal review, and resolution work.
